Why does it say that my file is corrupted?

A file is corrupted when it is damaged and unable to properly function. All kinds of files and documents may end up corrupted. Everybody must have encountered a corrupted file at some point in their life.

Typically, files end up becoming corrupted when problems surface while it is being saved. Bad sectors of your storage media and devices may also lead to file corruption even if the saving takes place properly. Viruses and malware may also be the culprit.

Among all the possibilities, the most common cause is related to saving or creating the file. Glitches may take place with office apps. Problems may also occur when compression apps create an archive. When performing the backup operations, backup apps may also encounter problems. Even your browser or other apps you use for download could have errors when writing a file that is downloaded to the disk.
